Bathrobe

This is a photo of EL in his bathrobe. It is still pretty big, so he will get to use it for a while!

EL really likes being in the bathtub. He floats in the tub and soon after, his eyes start to close. He does not completely fall asleep, but seems like he is very relaxed. As Papa would say, "he is relaxing on the beach!"

Can't Stay Awake

EL has been going out for short walks, but he just can't stay awake! We try to take him out when he is awake, but every time when we walk out the door, this happens... His eyes close slowly... Sleepy... ZZZzzz...

Smile :)

Lately EL has been smiling quite a bit. We are not sure if his emotion is associated with his smile yet, but he looks cute! His smile makes everyone happy. :)

He has been bathing in a regular bathtub instead of his small baby bathtub for a week now. He used to love being bathed in his tub, and was always quiet. Now we wash him outside the tub in the bathroom (shower area), and he does not like that at all. He cries and cries until he is put into the warm water. Hopefully he does not think that we are torturing him. We would like to see him smile during the bath time, too!

Meiji Shrine

On Sunday, May 13, we went to Meiji Shrine (where Papa and Mama got married) to pay a visit. It took about 3.5 hours total including trains and waiting. It was EL's first time riding a train. He was sleeping most of the time except when we were coming home. During the ceremony inside the shrine, he woke up a little, but did not cry and went right back to sleep. The ceremony felt long since we were nervous about him crying loudly. Or maybe because we had to sit on our legs (seiza) and our legs were getting numb. Since it was s Sunday, there were a lot of people out and EL seemed to be surprised to see so many people and hear lots of noises at Harajuku station. After we came home, he was fast asleep again. He must have been very tired to experience the world. :)

May 5

May 5 is Children's Day (Boy's Day) in Japan. It is a day to celebrate boy's good life and health. The helmet set behind Papa and EL is a gift from Grandparents-Y&Y.

EL wasn't too happy to be taken his photo here, but Papa was. :)

Going for a Walk

EL went for a walk for the first time for just a few minutes around the neighborhood. Although he was sleeping through his first outside experience, he seemed to enjoy the nice weather. :)
