Cute Smile :D

EL smiles many times throughout his day. Last week, he made a little bit of laughing noise as he smiled, too!

This is his new outfit that one of Mama's friends sent to him. It's called "jinbei." Mostly men wear jinbei during the hot summer days. A lot of them wear it especially when they go to festivals or go see fireworks on summer nights.

Getting Easier?!

It is getting a little easier for Mama to take care of EL during the day. He has been having more of a schedule in his days. He sleeps, eats, stays awake for one to two hours, and goes back to sleep. He is now awake longer than before, so he and Mama can play together longer. Also, he sleeps well over night. That means Papa and Mama can get pretty good sleep until the morning, too. EL is such a good baby! He does cry quite a bit at night if he is not being held, but he does not cry during the bath time much any more. Who knows how his days are going to change, but for now, it seems to be a bit easier. :)

Ready to Play!

EL is ready to go play basketball, soccer, or something! He was exercising his legs and arms in this sporty outfit. He sometimes cannot control his hands and punch himself, but that's okay. He is excited about moving his whole body! We wonder which sports he will enjoy when he grows up.

Big Yawn!

When EL is sleepy, he yawns, rubs his eyes with his hands, or cries. In this photo, he was still in a good mood, so he wasn't crying. It's funny that he looks pretty wide-awake!

New Habits

EL has started to suck on his fingers and makes noise. He sometimes sucks his whole fist and gets his hands all wet! No matter what he does, he looks so cute. :) So, we don't mind much that his wet fingers touch us.

He is also starting to "talk." He has been practicing talking more and more. When he is crying wanting to sleep, he seems to be saying, "I want to sleep" as he makes crying sounds. When he is happy, he talks a lot! EL and Mama talk to each other a lot, especially in the afternoon. It feels like he can start talking with actual words very soon although most of the babies don't start speaking until around the age of 1.

Growing Fast!

EL seems to be growing fast. He used to have extra space on this changing station, but now he is a little bigger (longer?) than the sheet! It is amazing how fast he grows.

His Daily Routine

EL's smile is so adorable, isn't it! We never get bored watching him all day especially when he is smiling. Recently he makes smiley face often, and we can't wait until he smiles and laugh out loud at the same time. :)

He has his daily routine. He sleeps, wakes up crying and asks to be fed, and goes to the bathroom. After eating, he is usually happy. He lies on his crib and talks to Mama. After a while, he starts to exercise his arms and legs very actively. Then, he gets bored and starts crying. Mama holds him and he is happy again and falls asleep. Sometimes he is grumpy and keeps crying for a long, long time. We have mentioned this, but he loves to be held, so he gets upset being put down on his crib when he is unhappy or not quite asleep.

He looks very peaceful when he is deep in sleep. He sometimes moves his mouth and we wonder if he is dreaming about eating. :)

Before the Rainy Season Comes...

EL has been enjoying going for a walk with Mama (and Papa on weekends) almost everyday for 15-30 minutes. We are thankful that the weather has been pretty nice in Tokyo lately. EL can now stay awake for at least half way. He has been enjoying watching the sky, trees, houses, and walls. :) The rainy seaon is coming soon, but we hope to be able to go out and get some fresh air once in a while.

Favorite Spot

This is one of EL's most favorite spots to be.

EL loves to be held all the time, and he often falls asleep in that position. Once he falls asleep, we try to put him down on his crib. However, a lot of times he wakes up right after realizing that he is no longer being held!

Two-Month Old

EL is now two-month old. He has grown quite a bit. Grandparents-Y&Y and Auntie-K often talk about how big and heavy he is now. Mama's wrists are hurting lately since he is getting bigger and bigger!

Auntie-S Visits EL from Germany

Auntie-S came to visit EL all the way from Germany. EL has been enjoying her and loves to sleep in her arms. He is going to miss her so much once she goes back.
