Passport Photo

Mama took EL to a photo studio to take his passport picture. At the studio, he was being very good. After a few tries, he looked into the camera. After taking the photo, EL and Mama went to the (Japanese) passport center to apply for one, but we couldn't... :( We need to submit a document that proves the spelling of his name in English. So, we'll need to get the U.S. passport first. This is going to take a while, but he at least has a cute ID picture!

Cheerful Baby

Here is a photo from one weekend. EL was so happy and cheerful because he was able to spend all weekend with Papa. EL always misses Papa during weekdays since Papa needs to work long hours. Both EL and Papa love weekends!

Tough Boy

EL is very strong! He can hold his big book. He also tries to put that in his mouth!

EL and Mama still read at least one story from "Disney 365 Bedtime Stories" every day. EL is so interested in things around him now, so he sometimes seems not so interested in Mama reading. Instead, he looks around and around. But other times he looks at Mama reading, listens, and smiles. :)

Do You Want To Eat More?

One night, Papa and Mama were reading a card from Auntie-S and Uncle-J. EL was very curious while we were reading it. As soon as we put the card back in the envelop, EL grabbed it and started eating! Papa said, "Oh, don't eat that!"

Introducing Foods

We have started introducing some "solid" foods to EL. He has started with watery, well-cooked rice about a week ago, and today he had some carrot paste in his rice. He does not hesitate much to eat/drink/lick. He looks so cute with sticky rice all over his mouth while eating. :D

How He Rolls Around

As you can see here, this is how EL rolls around on his parents' bed. Papa notices EL trying to roll over him on the bed on early mornings when Mama brings him to change his diaper. Mama sees EL rolling over all the time, and she thinks the back of his head is very cute with so little hair. :)

Mug Training

EL started using his new mug. He can hold his mug with both hands. Mama thought he can drink out of the mug so well, but he wasn't. His bib was all wet! He just enjoys sucking on it, and lets all the drink (barley tea) out of his mouth! Papa and Mama need to be patient with him. :) He will eventually learn to drink out of this mug and move on to drinking out of the straw mug later.

Teething

The other day, we got together with moms and babies with the same birthday as EL. We saw little teeth coming through in one of the babies' mouth already! So Mama checked EL's mouth again, and maybe saw a very tiny white spot, but she doesn't think that was it. BUT his teeth might be coming through soon since he loves teething!

Strong Grip

EL grabs and pulls everything comes close to him. Papa's shirt, Mama's hair (ouch!), everyone's fingers (ouch!), and more! Here, EL grabbed the strap of the camera. He has such a strong grip. So you'd better watch out if he is trying to grab your hair!

Cute Shoes

EL is wearing his shoes for the first time. He still cannot walk, but that doesn't matter! Mama's friend EM gave them to him, and they are very easy to put on. He is growing fast, so he probably cannot wear them for too long. He'd better start walking soon! :P
