One Saturday Afternoon

EL loves weekends since he gets to be around Papa. He only gets to see Papa in the morning and at night just for a little bit during weekdays since Papa is busy working.

Last weekend, he was watching a movie with Papa. Mama had to take this picture because they looked so cute together. :) BUT Mama says, "don't watch too much TV!"

Strong Neck

EL's neck has been very stable lately. He can lift his head all by himself for a long time. His arms are also getting stronger.

Inokashira Park

Three of us went to Inokashira Park in Kichijoji on Sunday. The weather was pretty nice and there weren't too many people. EL has been there when he was still inside Mama. Actually that was the day before he was born!

Entertainer

During weekdays, EL has been entertaining Mama while she prepares for dinner. Mama brings his chair out in the kitchen and he sits there nicely. EL and Mama sing songs, and talk to each other (mostly talk about Papa!). Mama enjoys his company and loves his smile like this. =D

Apple Juice

Grandpa-Y, EL, and Mama went out for a walk one day. We stopped at a coffee shop for a few minutes. EL almost drank Mama's apple juice!!

He actually just started having some diluted fresh apple juice with his baby spoon that day. He has been drinking fresh fruit juice everyday now. He can drink the juice off the spoon very well, and he seems to like it.

Reading Books

Lately EL and Mama have been reading books together everyday. He has several books in English and Japanese. Mama is not sure which book is his favorite, but Papa thinks he was enjoying "Are You My Mother?" by P. D. Eastman very much.

In this photo, EL is playing with his soft book that has some pictures and words. He cannot flip the pages by himself yet, but he can at least hold on to it, amd stare at it. :)

Eating Ceremony

Today was EL's 100th day since he was born. We had an eating ceremony to wish him for having enough to eat all his life. He cannot eat any of the food, so Papa and Mama will eat for dinner!

Another big event today was that EL got his first shot. He cried just for a second right after the shot, but stopped crying soon. He was such a good baby. This is a series of shots, so he will have two more in the next few months in addition to another one he is going to get at the end of this month. Lots of shots!

"I Can Sit on a Chair."

Grandpa-Y took out the old baby rocking chair and cleaned it for EL. Just like his crib, Mama's sister and Mama used to use this chair, too. At first, he was a little scared to be rocked, but as soon as he got used to the idea, he enjoys the rocking chair. Even though he cannot eat "real" food yet, he will have an eating ceremony that usually takes place on the baby's 100th day on Tuesday, July 10. We will put out some lucky red bean rice and sea bream etc.

Huge Mouth

EL sometimes puts his fist into his mouth instead of his fingers. His hands are getting bigger, but looks like his mouth is, too! He enjoys playing with his hands a lot. He does not have much interest in toys yet, but he grabs his bib, pillow case, Papa's & Mama's clothes... etc. He can grab things a lot more strongly than before.

"How Do You Like My Hat?"

EL tried on his new hat Auntie S & Uncle J sent to him. We were looking for a hat for him, but we could not find a hat small enough for EL. The day we received the hat, he tried it on. He likes the hat and looks so cute in it. He (...? Really? Not his PARENTS...?) wants to show it to everyone!
