Grandma-D's Visit

The baby (EL)'s first visitor was Grandma-D from the U.S. We were very happy to have her here so she could enjoy her first grandchild. Since she had gone back, EL misses her and crys lots. :(

First Bathing at Home

On Sunday, April 8, we bathed him for the first time at home. Grandparents-Y&Y helped Papa & Mama. He loves to bath, and stops crying as soon as he is in the tub. Grandpa-Y says that he will love onsen (hot spring) when he grows up!

This is one of his first photos that Papa took on April 2. Let's go back to April 1 and see what happened.
Grandparents-Y&Y, Papa, and Mama went to a park to see cherry blossoms on Sunday, April 1. We did get to see pretty flowers, but also whole bunch of people were at the park since it was one of the best days to go see the blossoms. It was such a warm and nice spring day.

That night, Mama was starting to feel the tightening in her tummy around 8 P.M., and they were about 20-15 minutes apart. However, she had been having the similar tightening often before. She thought it's probably another one of those. Around 10 P.M., Mama was joking about having the baby tomorrow (April 2) with her sister since it's her sister's dog's birthday. When Papa and Mama were about to go to bed around midnight, Mama felt wide-awake. After a few minutes, she started to have strong stomachache in her lower tummy. She started to time the pain, and it was already less than 5 minutes apart. She thought this could not be the contraction because it's supposed to start with 10-15 minutes apart first. However, the pain was very strong and coming consistently, so she called the hospital around 1 A.M. on April 2. Grandparents-Y&Y, Papa, and Mama all went to the hospital in the middle of the night. At 4:50 A.M. on April 2, 2007, Papa and Mama finally got to meet the baby!

Here he is! He was born at 4:50 A.M. on April 2. We will be sharing more photos and fun experiences with him soon.
